Here’s My Story

As you will see from my resume, this is a career change for me, but that does not imply that the museum field is a new interest for me.

As a home educator for a large portion of my adult life, I used museums as a key component of my curriculum, whether it was an all-day adventure at an historic site or going to an art museum to spend concentrated time with one painting. Due to my interests, we also participated in archaeological field schools that included excavation and artifacts processing.

With children now grown and gone, I made the decision to return to school for a master’s degree in museum studies with emphasis in archives and collections management.

Some of My Thoughts

Because I believe one is never too old to learn something new, nor too old to share what they know, my mission is to care for the objects that provide experiences and information that continually sparks curiosity, broadens understanding and builds new ways of thinking. I believe that personal encounters with museum objects provide visitors with opportunities to acknowledge and experience the reality of the object and its significance
